Send The Right Tidings With Flowers For Specific Occasions

by Chris Channing

When you send a flower to someone, you are sending much more than just a stem and a pretty bloom. You are sending a general message as well! Flowers are associated with different types of feelings, emotions, and though processes. Knowing the meanings can help you pick the right flower for every occasion.

Several flowers will all mean the same thing, depending on their cut, color, and arrangement. If you would like to display the theme of innocence, perhaps for a wedding, you could make an arrangement of lilacs or a freesia. Both are light-colored and minimalistic as compared to bulky, and make great additions for the bride’s bouquet or surrounding scenery at the reception.

It’s sad: friendship isn’t rewarded nearly enough among friends today. If you want to thank a friend for being there through the thick and the thin, you should go for a yellow-based flower much like the sunflower. You won’t have to gift a flower for no reason at all, but instead pay attention to the smaller things friends do for you. The next time your friend is feeling blue or in the hospital- you’ll know what to do!

When you want to celebrate a joyous occasion, your best bet would be to go with a light-orange flower such as the Birds of Paradise. A good occasion for such flowers would be a graduation- which signifies a youth’s rebirth as an adult and the joy that it brings as they go onto newer and better things. A job promotion, anniversary, or other positive event also does well with such flowers.

Most are aware of the message that a red rose will send- love. Perhaps the most popular flower when it comes to Valentine’s day, roses are a classic symbol in society. Don’t neglect other flowers, however! The Snapdragon is an example of how you can be more specific than just showing love, since they are more affiliated with the feeling of desire. Know when to use each of the love-based emotions to send the right flower.

Remembering those we have loved but have lost is important to honor. You will see a lot of Anemone flowers used on graves and in funerals because of the gentle message of respect that each flower contains. Other related emotions such as honor and complimentary feelings also can be issued. They also provide good contrast in a bouquet.

In Conclusion

When you are shopping for a flower the next time you have need to gift it to someone, remember what you have learned. Also seek help with the retailer to see what he or she would recommend that you buy for a specific occasion. The retailer, after all, is one of the most credible sources to go to for information.
