Tax Incentives Available To Current Missouri Residents

by Chris Channing

Businesses in each state are looking to cut down on costs that are given when starting up a business. The state of Missouri has put many such cost effective means forth in the form of tax credits. Tax credits can earn a small businesses a large chunk of capital used to help grow and succeed.

Local areas that seem to have lost their fervor for businesses will commonly be key areas for a small business to relocate. This is because the state of Missouri has started a program that rewards businesses with sales tax credits by moving their production lines and offices to a community that has seen better days. If a small business is based in retail, this can be cost effective indeed.

If you have finally gotten to the point where your business is becoming stable, you can still obtain tax credits. Businesses of any type can apply for the tax rebate given when one donates money to a certain business incubator in Missouri. While it won’t be a 100% return, you will feel better knowing that you are helping out others that are now in the same situation you once were.

Small business loans are geared towards businesses that are just starting up, so they are sometimes lenient in repayment and interest rates. Even so, some small businesses can’t seem to make a profit with also paying on such loans. Missouri has allowed tax credits to be given to those who still have small business loans through key small business organizations.

Just like the tax incentive that rewards businesses that are moving to a community with few jobs, the Enhanced Enterprise Zone Incentive has been issued for communities that are made up of a certain demographic that is in dire need of jobs. In this instance, the state of Missouri wants businesses to create jobs, and thus, create a positive impact on a key demographic for a certain community. Tax credits in this case can be received for up to ten years.

Even if you don’t run a small business you can get tax incentives. A good example would be with the film industry, which can get up to 50% reimbursement through a Missouri tax incentive program. The program will only pay totals that are $1 million and less, so this isn’t the ideal opportunity for major films. Incentives like this help inspire a sense of community, art, and inspiration to those in Missouri.

The chances your business will succeed are much higher if you obtain an accountant that has experience in practicing law in your general community. Obtaining tax incentives is smart, but so too is taking advice from a wise accountant who has seen how businesses operate.
