The Fun Of Collecting Celebrity Autographs

I never would have thought that when I, as an eight year old, was given an autograph book as a birthday present I would still be collecting celebrity autographs 30 years on. It would have seemed unlikely and some would still consider it odd that a grown man would collect autographs but then again, why not?

It is a simple hobby and not one that takes me away from my family at weekends the way so many hobbies can do. If I played golf every weekend I might not see as much of my kids as I do now and If I were into hang gliding or fishing I would hardly see them at weekends at all.

My hobby of collecting celebrity autographs may not be death defying or even very exciting to many other people but it gives me a buzz when I am able to add a famous name to my collection.

I have several different groups such as movie stars, TV celebrities and politicians and within those groups I have smaller subsets of them. So, when I get to complete a sub-group it gives me a real thrill and for such a cheap hobby where you can leave it alone for months if you are busy getting on with your life, I think it is the perfect antidote to a stress filled life sat behind my desk at work.
